Gear Review: Lifeproof Cases and Armbands

I’m definitely one of those folks thad is a fan of taking my phone with me on a run or a ride. It’s not always about listening to music all the time or taking photos along the way, but if anything its about safety. I view it as a just another pound or so of weight and it’s just good to have in case something comes up. The problem I find is two-fold. First, most of the armbands in the market are annoying to use and second and inevitably, my battery will run out. I could use one of the extender batteries, but then these never fit in the normal arm sleeves which is annoying. When Lifeproof offered to send some gear over for the crew to check out, I was first in line to grab one.

Apparel Review: Opedix Dual-Tec 2.0 3/4 Tights

Sometimes we get the chance to look at a brand’s product where there isn’t much else in the lineup, they simply focus on one core offering and attempt to access in that area. In this case, it’s all about compression. Opedix was founded on the idea of producing gear that has a profound effect on health, they refer to it as Kinetic Health Gear. We got a chance to take their Dual-Tec 2.0 2 3/4 tights out for some test runs.

Shoe Review: Saucony Triumph ISO 2

We were big fans of the first version of the Triumph ISO released last year, so we approached the ISO 2 review with eager anticipation. The first version was a new addition to the Saucony lineup in that it provided a higher level of cushioning then the majority of shoes they offer. We found that this added cushioning was welcome for most mid-level or even recreational runners, but the shoes still remained quite fast, almost uncontrollably so. The good news is it appears the ISO 2 may have changed all that.

Shoe Review: New Balance 910v2

In the past when it came to New Balance, we have reviewed only their Leadville trail shoe and for the most part we confined ourselves to their road lineup which is massive. We did have a chance to take a look at the redesigned 910v2, a trail shoe designed to be a little speedier and fill the gap between road runners and long distance shoes. This is a trail shoe that’s designed to be well cushioned and responsive while still being able to go the distance. It is a complete overhaul from the original 910 so here it goes.

Shoe First Look: Altra Instinct 3.5 and Provision 2.5

We got a chance to take a look at two of the recently updated models from the Altra road lineup with the Instinct 3.5 and Provision 2.5. The Instinct is the classic neutral runner while the Provision is designed for those with a little needed stability. Both have seen cosmetic updates as well as some retooling today and really enjoying the somewhat sleeker new look and design. In this article we take a first look at both side by side.

Tech Review: Bose SoundSport Wired In-Ear Headphones

The Bose name is synonymous with high quality sound and I think its fair to say that many of us having been waiting for quite a while for a sport version from them. Thankfully, the SoundSport In-Ear have arrived and they are a great first step into the sport market, but we wanted to get a little deeper with this review. We wanted to judge them not only on whether the sound produced lives up to the Bose name, but also how well they perform in action.

Shoe Review: Altra Impulse

We looked at a number of shoes from Altra over the last year and most of these tended to the maximum cushioning side. Going into this new year we started taking a look at the rest of the lineup to see what the difference might be. To kick it off, we took a look at the Altra Impulse which is also the new base for the upcoming AltraIQ connected shoe as well.
