It is that time of year and many of us are scratching our heads as to what to get the runners in our lives so we have compiled a list of some of our favorites. You won’t find any running shoes on here but instead we have opted for those little touches that add to the run experience or remind you of it… you’ll see what we mean.
Track Their Workouts – COROS Pace 2
The COROS Pace 2 is the most premium option on the list, but it is going to win you some huge points when they open it up. At $249, the Pace 2 is easily one of the most affordable high quality running watches on the market right now and the addition of their Training Hub puts it at the top of our list. When someone says, what do we spend our own money on, the answer is easy. The Eliud Kipchoge model is great looking, but additional colors are available as well. Learn more on the COROS website.
Help Them Stay Visible – Nathan
While Nathan has a lot of great items in their lineup, one of the places they excel is in visibility. With a collection of items ranging from headlamps to strobes, LEDs, vests, and more they have your safety covered. These make great stocking stuffers as well!
Keep Them Hydrated – Hydrapak
Hydrapak has a very large number of options to keep you hydrated but their soft flasks are great for easy stowage and when they are empty, they pack down to nothing. Some even include adjustable handles and they also make for improved replacements for the one that came with your hydration vest. You can check out their entire offering their site.
Simplify Their Recovery – Deckers X Lab
Deckers X Lab is like a secret division within Deckers that is staffed with ex-HOKA folks and pumps out some crazy looking shoes. However, they are incredibly comfortable shoes and make for insane recovery options and none more so than the KO-Z lineup. The SNPR LOW and the EVRST are just insanely comfortable and they do run warm so depends on your climate. Check them out here!
Protect Those Eyes – Adidas Eyewear
We all know the Adidas name of course, but most would never associate them with eyewear. That being said, they have just an insane lineup and one of our current favorites is their Solar Red Injected. With quick swappable lenses, they provide maximum visibility with a solid on face feel. There are a ton of other options available so take a look on their site.
If you are looking for a more traditional style with a slightly lower price tag, then also consider the Nathan sunglass lineup. Fully polarized with 100% UV protection, the frames are slightly tacky and fully flexible makin them able to stand up to even the harshest runs. You can see the full offering here.
Warm Those Ankles With Style – Swiftwick
So yes, everyone knows Swiftwick makes socks, but did you know they make really fun merino wool holiday themed winter socks? For road and trail runners, a little extra ankle coverage is great this time of the year and keeping it on theme is a big plus. Check out these and more on their site.
Keep the Spirit of the Trail Alive – Juniper Ridge
Bring the essence of the trail into the home with a bunch of options including incense, oils, room sprays, candles, teas and even body washes all in 100% plant based paraben free ingredients. Smells include Cascade Forest, Redwood Mist, and Sierra Forest so you can mimic that trail run feeling from the comfort of your own home. Take a look on their site for more.
Overall Conclusion
Everyone get out and hit the trails and if you want to argue about any of these, then well…. just try and track us down out there in the trees!
