I’ve been a fan of these for a long time, so I was pumped to get a chance to review them. It starts off with a simple premise, have you ever been running, cycling, lifting, or really working out in anyway and had to leave your wedding band behind? It has become commonplace for me and frankly annoys me to no end. Removing my ring and leaving it behind in a locker or at home has simply become something that is part of my routine. That doesn’t make it okay, I mean I still really want to wear it as having it on my finger still means a lot to me. Qalo is the answer we’ve been looking for.
Qalo has designed a super simple and honestly fun ring replacement in the form of a silicone band that comes in a large variety of colors and even stripes and camo that you can wear in lieu of your wedding ring. The ring is a thin molded silicone that will not break down or tear over time, but works perfectly when you are running, cycling or even lifting weights. It has great stretchability and very high tensile strength, so breaking it is difficult.
So I tested it out. I took it out for runs and it didn’t move around at all on my finger and honestly I hardly noticed it. I took it on the bike and on the road and could barely tell that I had it on when my hand was against the bar. And lastly I took it to the gym, into the pool and into the weight room and in all places it worked exactly as designed. I could lift without any further pain in my finger and went swimming it didn’t slip at all. Pull up bars, dumbbells and barbells, kettle bells, and more were tested and in no case did I experience a problem.
It fits true to size, so my size 10 wedding band transitioned perfectly to the same size in Qalo. I actually felt it was snug at first, but that seemed to be more the material and first time use. It really was the perfect fit in that it doesn’t leave any marks or restrict blood flow at all. Qalo does offer a ring sizing guide on their site which tried as well and it found the same sizing, so good to try that first if you are unsure. I grew accustomed to wearing it very quickly and really loved the idea that I got to keep my ring on.
