Ciele Athletics seriously makes some of the best hats out there for runners and we consider it our mission to let everyone we meet know that they have to check them out. If you find them in a store, and they aren’t sold out, then they will inevitably catch your eye not only due to their occasional bold use of colors, but also because of their quality and design aesthetic. The bottom line is, this small Canadian just has it really dialed in when it comes to headgear.
The new BKTHat has become the office favorite for summer. This traditional bucket is way more than it seems featuring +40UPF protection on the brim and the body and then COOLwick tech on the top and sides. This means you get full 360 degree protection from the sun and then cooling technology to let your head breathe during those hot days. The brim is soft and malleable so you can fold it up if you like, all depending how you want to wear it. We get a lot of comments when we are out in this hat and honestly once folks check it out, they all want their own.
Ciele GOCap and GOCap SC
The GOCap is the Ciele tried and true and comes in just a ton of color options, logo sizing, and configurations. For the most part they all share some very specific features. Most of the hats use COOwick fabric which keeps it light and lets it dry fast. They use +40UPF on the brim, front, and back panels to protect you from the sun. The brim is typically flat, but it is soft and malleable to pack it, flip it up, basically make it your own. The plethora of color options, patterns, even meshes and logo usage is pretty outstanding and if they don’t have something to your liking, then we would be shocked. Also, some of the highly reflective models are super cool as well.
The GOCap SC is basically your typical GOCap but instead of sporting a soft flat brim, it sports a soft curved brim. The surve is very very minor and inevitably the normal flat brim can be molded to a curve.
Not sure we even need to see more other than get out there and get a Ciele hat, like ASAP because they sell out faster than you can blink. Limited edition versions roll in and out of their lineup, but there are still a ton of options. Spending $40-$60 on a new hat can really change your day and your run. Also if you live in area with a lot of sun, then give that BKTHat a shot, it is definitely our new favorite for the summer. Most of their hats are made with REPREVE fabric as well which is a recycled fiber, so you can rest easy knowing they are trying to improve our environment. They are all machine washable as well, so you can just toss them in the wash after a run.
