Upper

I noticed it worked especially well when I was tired and needed the shoe to carry me through the stride.
Outsole
Durability is always a hallmark of the Ghost line, and the 17 doesn’t break that pattern. The outsole has generous rubber coverage with cutouts that help it flex through transitions. Grip on dry pavement is excellent, and I found it reliable on light gravel as well. After a handful of runs, the outsole barely showed any wear, which makes me think this shoe could easily handle hundreds of miles. It’s not a super flexible outsole, but with all the cushioning underfoot, that seems like a fair trade.
Run Performance
Out on the road, the Ghost 17 feels like a daily workhorse. It’s not flashy, but that’s part of its charm—it just disappears underfoot and lets you get the miles in. I really enjoyed it on easy runs and steady mid-distance efforts where comfort was the priority. The cushioning is protective without being overly soft, so I felt supported but not bogged down. That said, it’s not a shoe I’d reach for when I want to pick up the pace—there are lighter and snappier trainers for that. Still, for long days on your feet or recovery runs, it delivers exactly what you’d hope for.
